Title: Improvement of exhibitions and educational activities at the Hoi An Center For Cultural Heritage Management And Preservation From a Foreigner’s Perspective
Author: Tanaka Saki, Ex - Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (Japan)
Abstract: The Hoi An Center For Cultural Heritage Management And Preservation is involved in the preservation of the World Cultural Heritage site Hoi An.
The problem for the museum operated by the facility is that effective exhibition and educational dissemination activities are not carried out. Therefore, the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer was dispatched to enhance the expertise of the staff and to aim for a better museum. However, it was found that it was not easy to improve educational dissemination activities in which ideas and emotions are easily reflected, although it was easy to improve systematic exhibitions.
Hence, it was necessary to take into account the barriers of the local social system and culture in achieving the goals.
After the volunteer returns to Japan, planned exhibitions will be held by the museum staff and further development is expected.
