Title: Beyond Borders and Generations: Maruki Gallery's Fundraising and Dissemination Efforts

Author: Yukinori Okamura, Curator, Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima panels

Abstract: In 2019, Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima Panels started implementing various actions to disseminate the Hiroshima Panels to the world and was preparing to launch fundraising campaigns. We decided to utilize online platforms and offer information bilingually so that the Hiroshima Panels would be accessible to more people both in Japan and abroad. We hoped that this would enable us to broaden our support base for the Gallery. When the Gallery was forced to close for two months this spring due to the spread of COVID-19, we unexpectedly saw immediate and visible results of our newly implemented actions and it saved the plight of the Gallery. This paper explains our actions in this past year using links to the resources.
